How do I get the original window sticker (Monroney Label) for my GMC?

Use the following Window Sticker Tool to generate a digital copy of the original window sticker for your GMC vehicle. Your Monroney label will be 100% accurate and provide you with your vehicle’s original standard equipment (i.e. trim, packages, and/or options).

To use the sticker tool, all you need is a VIN and a phone number to receive a link to your new sticker PDF file.

What do I need to get the window sticker (Vehicle VIN)?

To get your window sticker through the WithClutch tool, you will need your VIN (vehicle identification number). A VIN is a unique 17 character (numbers and capital letters) code used to track manufacturer recalls, vehicle records, thefts, etc.

Where do I find the VIN for my GMC?

The VIN for a GMC vehicle is usually located in two places:

  1. The door jamb on the driver’s side

  2. The left corner of the dashboard where it meets the windshield

Other places you may find the VIN is on:

  • Vehicle registration documents

  • Insurance cards

  • The steering column

  • Service invoices

What’s the difference between a VIN decoder, Monroney Label, and Window Sticker?

A VIN decoder runs your vehicle identification number through a database to verify vehicle history information such as:

  • Make and model year, assembly location, and production number

  • Number of vehicle owners since original purchase date

  • Current/last state to title the vehicle

  • Applicable recalls, warranties, registration, thefts, and insurance coverage

A Monroney Label aka window sticker is required to be displayed on a new vehicle to disclose its standard equipment and pricing information. In 2013 it was updated to include:

  • Vehicle identification number (VIN)

  • Engine type

  • EPA fuel economy rating

  • Government safety rating

  • Warranty details

  • MSRP with standard options and features

  • Additional manufacturer options and pricing information

  • Total vehicle price including all features

What are some key details to know about how GMC describes packages and options?

General Motors Truck Company, also known as GMC, is a division of the automaker, General Motors (GM) that builds the mainstream brand Chevrolet, and luxury brand Buick found at joint GM dealers. GM vehicles have a reputation for possessing a reliable build quality and design. GMC currently offers a range of vehicles; SUVs, trucks, and utility vans, that are of a more premium standard when compared to the mechanically identical (i.e. GMC Sierra vs Chevrolet Silverado) sister automaker, Chevy (Chevrolet).

On average, a GMC vehicle has four different trim levels (a version of a vehicle model equipped with a fixed combination of features) you can pick from. Ultimately, the number of trims depends on the vehicle model. Features such as AWD and 4WD, or extended cab and crew cab are independent of the trims and are chosen before selecting a trim.

For example, the 2021 Yukon is sold with two types of drivetrains, AWD, and 4WD. Once the desired drivetrain is selected, the GMC Yukon can be outfitted with one of four trims:

  1. Yukon SLE

  2. Yukon SLT

  3. Yukon AT4

  4. Yukon Denali

The GMC Yukon SLE trim is the entry-level model and offers basic standard features. You can upgrade the trim level to get more premium features, but expect to pay more for the additional options. With each increasing tier, the vehicle to be equipped with most of the standard features from the preceding tier, in addition to other premium features.

Below are some of the features offered at each trim level for the 2021 Yukon:

  • Yukon SLE

  • V8 Engine

  • 6-speaker sound system

  • Remote start

  • Yukon SLT

  • Qi wireless mobile device charging

  • Bose 9-speaker sound system

  • Climate controlled front seats

  • Yukon AT4

  • Magnetic Ride Control

  • Hill descent control

  • Climate controlled front and rear seats

  • Yukon Denali

  • HD surround vision

  • 15” HUD (head-up display)

  • Bose 14-speaker sound system

Note: Refer to the GMC website to find out in more detail the trim levels available for a specific vehicle.

Many premium features that aren’t standard for a vehicle can be installed via packages and options. While available packages and accessories vary based on the model itself, they allow the vehicle to be tailored to specific needs. Here are some examples of packages and accessories you may find:

What does the window sticker not provide?

Window stickers are most accurate when the vehicle is first manufactured. A Monroney label details the equipment and features a vehicle has immediately post-production. As such, the decals won't reflect any mods (modifications) made by the dealer or other third-party owners -- nor will it detail components that have been repaired or replaced.

A car window sticker does not provide the vehicle’s current condition or history, regardless of if the vehicle was purchased from a GMC dealership, CPO (certified pre-owned program), or a private seller. That information can be obtained through using services such as Carfax, Autocheck, or having a certified professional perform an inspection.

Finally, the MSRP (Manufacturer Suggested Retail Price) will not reflect the vehicle’s current value because natural wear and depreciation are not taken into account when originally priced. Even though the decal sticker shows a particular MSRP, the vehicle may sell for less when considering applicable negotiations and discounts.

When does this Free GMC Window Sticker Tool or VIN decoder not work?

At this time, the window sticker tool by WithCluth only supports vehicles which are 2013 Model Year and newer. In addition, there may be other limitations preventing you from using the sticker tool:

  • The VIN does not meet the 17 character requirement (applies to vehicles model year 1981 and older)

  • The VIN cannot be validated by certified techniques:

  • Checksum: The 9th digit of the VIN number (limited to numbers 0-9 or the letter X) of US and Canadian vehicles is used in an algorithm to determine its validity

  • Illegal character check: VINs can include any alphanumeric character except the letters I, O, and Q

  • Your vehicle is too new and has not been updated in the NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration) database
