Can you refinance an auto loan with an older car?

Yes - but only up until a certain age. Most lenders won't refinance a vehicle that is older than 10 years old or greater than 140,000 miles. Some lenders have even newer requirements, with lower mileage restrictions.

If you've got an older, higher mileage car there aren't a lot of great means to refinance the auto loan. You can attempt to get a personal or unsecuritized loan - but these often come with higher interest rates. Other lenders which require no "title" will also finance older and classic vehicles for prime lenders (lightstream is a good example).undefined
